Course Open this Weekend!

It’s hard to believe that at the start of this week, so many Brisbane golf clubs (including ours) were completely flooded. Since the redevelopment, Nudgee has seen its creeks, ponds, and wetlands interconnected across the flood-prone land, giving the course an incredible ability to recover quickly from flooding. In the past, water would often sit around for weeks, but now, we’re able to bounce back much faster.

A massive thank you goes to the 75+ volunteers and 30 staff who have helped with the clean-up after TC Alfred. With their support, the course team has been able to focus on getting the playing surfaces back into shape, meaning we’ll be able to open this weekend with motorised carts!

Today, the team achieved some incredible progress-fairways, greens, and tees were mowed, trees were mulched, and debris was cleared. What a fantastic effort! One course will close at around 12:45 pm each day this weekend to give the greens staff uninterrupted time to continue their mowing.

David Beard hosted a coffee catch-up after the morning clean-up, where he shared updates on all things Nudgee. He expressed his pride in the efforts of everyone involved, especially the long hours put in by our Course Superintendent, Peter Culross, and Assistant Superintendent, Ray Lawrence, who will continue to work over the weekend.

Both courses will be open this weekend for members only on Saturday, and both members and guests on Sunday. This will create additional tee times for both social and competition golf. Please check our website for competition details, tee times, and local rules. We ask that you remain mindful of any wet areas, fallen trees, and debris that are still on the course and yet to be cleared.

Thank you again for your understanding and support.
